Senior point guard Johnesia Good scored her 1,000th career point in Milligan’s victory over Tennessee-Wesleyan on Saturday.

On Wednesday her accomplishment was recognized in a pre-game award, and Good celebrated with a 23 point effort as the Lady Buffaloes (21-6 overall, 15-2 AAC) pulled out an 87-83 win over Columbia College at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

“It’s a team game and I can’t score without the support and good passing of my teammates,” Good stated. “Every conference game is a big game and there are no guarantees for a win except to play hard and keep battling. Going to the Nationals is a dream come true for us seniors.”

The win secured the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season championship and an automatic bid to the National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

“I felt this game would be a challenge, especially with the loss of Kayla,” said Lady Buffs head coach Rich Aubrey. “She is a big part of what we do on both ends of the floor and Chelsey (Weddle) played really, really well.
