Motorcycle run will raise money for funeral costs of accident victims

During times of tragedy, community members frequently come together to help each other out to bear the burden of the hard times. Members of the Carter County community are doing just that to provide assistance to the families of 7-year-old Jonathan Nye and 2-year-old Dalton Moffitt after the brothers were killed in a car accident last week.

Brent McClain, owner of BB&E Customs, a motorcycle repair and body shop in Stoney Creek, is organizing a motorcycle run fundraiser to help cover the funeral costs for those families. The motorcycle run will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, starting at noon. The cost is $20 per bike. The ride will begin at Creekers BBQ in Stoney Creek, follow Highway 19E to Hampton, then on to Gap Creek, the Laurels, through Milligan and back to Elizabethton.
