David Nelson has announced his candidacy for 8th District Carter County commissioner.

Nelson said he is asking his fellow Elizabethton residents to elect him so he can help shape up the commission.

“It’s time for us to come together as a county commission,” he said. “I’m just worried about the county.”

Nelson said there’s no time for Carter County’s commissioners to argue over the issues.

“We need to work together with no agendas and do the best we can for the people who live in our districts,” Nelson said. “It’s time to put the arguing and everything behind us and get back to doing the things citizens in the county need.”

Law enforcement and security experience has prepared Nelson to take on this leadership position, he said.

“I used to be police chief in Bluff City,” Nelson said. “I’ve been in law enforcement all my life.”

Isnt this the same guy that years ago as a Carter County Deputy who faked a shoot out over the police radio including shooting his own police vest and later became a horrible police chief at Bluff City. Yeah that’s what we all need in Carter County
