NET football stars thump SW Virginia, 44-0

By

BRISTOL, Va. — With Elizabethton coach Shawn Witten calling the shots, the Tennessee All-Stars were beyond dominant.

The best football players from Northeast Tennessee overwhelmed the Southwest Virginia All-Stars 44-0 on Sunday in the fourth-annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Senior Bowl at Gene Malcolm Stadium. All five Carter County schools, plus Johnson County, were represented well in the borderline clash.

“It’s great,” Witten said. “It’s just awesome on three days practice what these guys came out here and did, put up 44 points. It’s great all of these guys coming out here and putting in the effort.

“They’ve been great to coach and great to work with, and we had 50 great seniors that played in this game tonight.”
