Mr. and Mrs. Carl "Buddy" Rash of Bristol will be honored with a reception celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Piney Flats First Baptist Church Activities Building. The event, which will be held from 2 until 4 p.m., is open to friends and relatives. Your presence is the only gift requested.

 

They were married on Nov. 26, 1959 at the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church in Elizabethton.

 

Mrs. Rash is the former Janice Sue Johnson.

 

The couple have two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Dionne Rash, Bluff City, and Greg and Michelle Rash, Bristol. They have four grandchildren, William, Madeline, Bailey and Hannah Rash.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Shell

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Shell, Shell Creek Road, Roan Mountain, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009.

 

They were married in Elizabethton on Nov. 13, 1950 by B.M. Canup.

 

Mrs. Shell is the former Juanita Hart.

 

The couple are the parents of two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Garry McKinney and Marsha and Carson Shepherd, all of Roan Mountain, and a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Robin Shell, Gap Creek.

 

They have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
