Announcement is made today of the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Dana Marie Seals and Ryan Phelps Gillian.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Rev. Brent and Pat Seals, 10 Cherokee Ridge Court, Johnson City. She is the granddaughter of Ruth Vineyard, Knoxville, and the late Bowen Vineyard, and Margaret "Peggy" Seals, Elizabethton, and the late Bob Seals.
Dana attends Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City and is a member of the band "Dana and the Robots." She is a 2007 graduate of East Tennessee State University, pursuing studies in the medical field. She is currently employed by Mountain States Health Alliance.
Her fiancé is the son of Jim and Betty Ferguson, 4331 Arno Road, Franklin. He is the grandson of the late Woodrow and Bonnie Phelps.
Ryan also attends Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City. He attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and is a graduate of Colorado Mountain College. He is employed by the U.S. Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, Cherokee Hotshots.
The couple will be married during an open ceremony at First Baptist Church of Elizabethton on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at 4 p.m.
