Milligan College -- The Milligan College women's basketball team knocked off Berea College (Ky.) for their second win of the season Tuesday night at home. The Lady Buffs (2-0) beat the Lady Mountaineers (0-1) by a final of 78-73.

Bucs hammer Milligan 113-61 in exhibition
JOHNSON CITY -- Despite having three players on the bench in street clothes - including preseason All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection Mike Smith (Vandalia, Mo.) - the ETSU men's basketball team showed some depth in its first public performance of the 2009-10 season, rolling to a lopsided 113-61 victory over nearby Milligan College in exhibition play Tuesday night at Memorial Center.

Former Unaka coach Chambers returns to Hunter boys squad
Kenneth Chambers was one of the elite high school girl's basketball coaches in East Tennessee for seven seasons before his departure as Unaka's head coach last year. Now he's back on the sideline at Hunter Elementary as the boys head coach after a year's absence from the game.
Lady Buffs roll
It may not have been mapped out, but the basketball season opened in fine form for Milligan College's women.
Unaka wins Region 1-A Ralph Stout Award
The event allowed all the officials in Region One to come together for a time of fellowship with other officials and their spouses plus award the 2009 Ralph Stout Sportsmanship Awards sponsored by Wal-Mart to schools from five conferences along with the Bobby Dodd Award given to the school with the highest overall marks given by the officials during the 2009 football season.

Warrclones, Dynasty set for title rematch
While the Warrclones had a short day in cruising into the Elizabethton Parks & Rec Flag Football League championship, The Dynasty had to work a bit harder.

Cook to rescue for Cyclones
Unfortunately for the Cyclones, they would see their starting quarterback, an offensive lineman, their kicker-receiver-defensive back, and a starting defensive back succumb to injuries and have to come out of the contest.
Sophomore Arrowood has made impression for HHS
"Rachel always has a smile on her face when she cheers," Micah Nash said. "She is willing to try any stunt that I ask her to do. She is one of the best flyers on the team."
