Carolyn Forbes Frazier

By

Carolyn  Forbes  Frazier, age 78 of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly at the home of her daughter on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, after an extended illness.  She was born on Dec. 27, 1935, in Elizabethton to the late William “Bill” and Evelyn  Lewis Forbes and was a graduate of Elizabethton High School.

In addition to her parents she was  preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John L. Frazier Jr.; three brothers, Porter, Robin and Douglas Forbes; and twin sisters, Marie and Geraldine “Wanda” Estep Walls.

Mrs. Frazier was a retired officer of Carter County Bank.  She was a life-long and charter member of Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church.  She was adored by her customers, staff and friends in each of her positions because of her gentle, loving, Christ-like manner in her treatment of others.

She faithfully served with her God-given talents as Sunday school teacher and choir member for years. Her love of God and His Kingdom shone through both her voice and her countenance as she taught and sang.  We know that her voice will be a lovely addition beside our father in the heavenly choruses above!

She took special pride in “her flowers” at home, planting and planning for them each spring and tending them all through the summer.  She shared this love of flowers with her mother, family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Frazier Surcey and husband David, Johnson City; Sharon Frazier Edwards and husband Tim, Elizabethton; one grandson, Dustin Surcey; two brothers, Roger and Mary Forbes, Elizabethton, Lloyd Klenard and Emma Forbes, Florida; and several beloved sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to Dr. Chris Hemphill and Dr. Hamadi and their staff for their years of excepitional care for  of our mother.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev.
