Charles C. Reeves, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Reeves was born in Shady Valley, Tenn., to the late Sanford and Flora Blevins Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Blevins Reeves; one son, Howell Reeves; two brothers, Harold Reeves and Billy Reeves; and his first cousin, Jimmy Reeves.
Mr. Reeves worked as a pipe fitter and was an active member of Local Union 538, Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in World War II.
Mr. Reeves was an avid gardener, loved to go bluegill fishing and loved his Lord and his family.
Survivors include a son, Eric Reeves and fiancé Julie McDowell; four grandchildren, Jason Reeves, Clint Reeves and wife Debra, Bridget Reeves Jeter and husband John, and Julie Reeves; two daughters-in-law, Deborah Manuel Reeves and Linda Reeves; one great-granddaughter, Alli Reeves; and two great-grandsons, Larenzo Jeter and Blake Reeves.
The celebration of life service for Mr. Reeves will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, and Mr. Tracy Dugger, minister, officiating. Music will be congregational singing. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in the Blevins Cemetery in Shady Valley, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Eric Reeves, Forest Blevins, George Ellis, Dennis Pierce, Clay Neal Blevins, Leon Blevins, John Jeter, Jason Reeves and Clint Reeves. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday to go in procession.
