Dallas Payne Caston, 82, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
Mr. Caston was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired employee of the International Paper Company in Natchez, Miss. He was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. He was born in Mississippi and lived in Louisiana before moving to Elizabethton, Tenn., 13 years ago.
Mr. Caston was the son of the late Mase and Mary Hughes Caston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Dennis, Robert, Ray and Wordell Caston, and three sisters, Bobbie McGraw, Lucille McClain and Bonnie Sorey.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ann Caston, of the home; a sister, Kathleen Bledsoe and husband Jimmy, Shreveport, La.; a daughter, Patti Thompson, Bluff City; and three sons, Larry Caston and wife Patty, Gray, Tenn., Gary Caston and wife Beverly of Vidalia, La., and Kimbell Caston, Buffalo, Mo. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Caston will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Jackie Cox officiating. Music will be under the direction of Michael Caston. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
