Dimple Tomlinson Moody, 87, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, after a brief illness.
She was a native of Hampton, Tenn., and a daughter of the late Benjamin Grover Tester and Bessie Odom Tester. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Tomlinson, and her second husband, Stewart Moody; three brothers, Benjamin Tester, Oliver Tester and Marvin Tester; and three sisters, Viola Tester, Addie Duncan and Alma Clark.
Mrs. Moody had worked for the Carter County School System and was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Turbyfield and her husband Bill, Susan Ellis and her husband George and Cheryl Pitts and her husband Mike, all of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Wayne Turbyfield and his wife Sarah of Johnson City, Stephen Turbyfield and his wife Angie of Chuckey, Kristy Campbell and her husband Tim of Tampa, Fla., Lori Walker and her husband Bart of Gray, Roby Ellis and his wife Jaina, Leslie Pope and her husband Jathan, Jacob Pitts and Katie Pitts, all of Johnson City; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mrs. Moody will be conducted at 2:45 p.m. Friday, December 21, at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Minister Roby Ellis officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected by the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Friday.
