Fern Street

Fern Street, 86, Elizabethton, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a brief illness.
Mrs. Street was a native of Chicago, Ill., and had been a Carter County resident since 1981. She was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Emma A. Rossner Sieg.
Mrs. Street was a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago. After becoming an R.N. in the mid 1950s, she worked in the Veterans Affairs Hospital as well as other Chicago area hospitals prior to moving to this area, where she retired from the Johnson City Medical Center.
Prior to nursing, Mrs. Street was employed for 10 years with AB Dick Lithograph Corporation, Chicago. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Street, in 2005; two sisters, Elna Marie Sieg Einersen and Ruth Florence Vermillion; and an infant brother.
She is survived by a nephew, Ted Einersen, Springfield, Va.; a great-nephew, Mark Einersen and wife Melissa, Locust Grove, Ga.; and six great-great-nieces.
The funeral service for Mrs. Street will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with the Rev. James Nipper officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
