HICKORY, N.C. — Frances Marie Oliver, 72, of Hickory, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Born February 20, 1941 in Elizabethton, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Worley and Hazel Wilson Williams.
Mrs. Oliver was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. She worked at Century and Lexington Furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Elbert Oliver, and two brothers, Mark Williams and Dewey Williams.
Mrs. Oliver is survived by three sons, Tim Oliver and wife Rebecca of Newton, N.C., Jeff Oliver and wife Jamie of Columbia, S.C., and Gregg Oliver and wife Pamela of Hickory, N.C.; three sisters, Darlene Sells of Johnson City, Tenn., Diane Sells and Reva Williams of Elizabethton, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Josh Oliver, Kimberly Harris, Ashley Oliver, Allen Townsend, Chelsea Oliver, Jesse Oliver and Jake Oliver; and a great-grandchild, Kallii Johnson.
The funeral service for Mrs. Oliver will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Frye officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.
