Gary Lewis “Wong” Britt, 47, 474 Toll Branch Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his residence.
A native of Washington County, Tenn., he was the son of Clyde S. Britt and the late Yuki Britt.
Mr. Britt was a building contractor and of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and working on the farm with his father and his son. He also enjoyed horseback riding, farming, truck driving, motorcycle racing and racing four-wheelers.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea White Britt, and his son, Garrett Britt, both of the home; a step-daughter, Leslie Colbaugh, Elizabethton; a brother, Dwight Britt and wife Glenda, and a very special niece, Alex Britt, Johnson City; three sisters, Patricia Cathall and husband Jim, Johnson City, Joyce Stolphel and husband Ron, and a nephew, Steven Stolphel, all of El Paso, Texas, and Maxine Olgin and niece, Britney Olgin, El Paso,Texas; a half sister, Linda Whitehead, Elizabethton; two half brothers, Fred Britt, Elizabethton, and Joe Britt, Kingsport; and a niece, Tina English, Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The memorial service for Mr. Britt will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the residence, 474 Toll Branch Road, Johnson City, with Rev. Sherrell Nave officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
