Gerald T. Heaton Sr.

Gerald T. Heaton Sr., 73, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Erwin Health Care Center, following a brief illness.
Mr. Heaton was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Caleb Heaton Sr. and Loretta Fair Heaton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gordon Heaton.
Mr. Heaton was a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation, Summers-Taylor, Inc., Elizabethton Herb and Metal and Shields Produce. He attended Siam Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his son, Gerald T. Heaton Jr., Bristol, Tenn., and his former wife, Monica Heaton, Elizabethton.
The graveside service for Mr. Heaton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, in the Heaton Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession.
