Geraldine (Gerry) May Latham, 85, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the Pine Ridge Care center.
Miss Latham was born in East Palestine, Ohio and was employed as a secretary for Herriott Trucking Company until her retirement. She had lived in Elizabethton for the past several years. She was a daughter of the late Merl Floyd and Bertha Slasser Latham. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sanders.
Miss Latham was a faithful member of West Side Christian Church and was very dedicated to church mission work. She also loved to paint and had done several beautiful pieces of art. Anytime you came to visit, she always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include: one sister, Betty Sammons of Elizabethton; a nephew and wife, David & Hazel Sanders and their children, Steve, Josh & Wanda of Ohio; a niece and husband, Lynn and Bob Sheridan and their children, Karrie & Robbie of Florida, also nieces Beverly, Makaila and Michelle Bunting and nephew Michael Bell of Johnson City.
The family would like to personally thank the West Side Christian Church family and employees of Pine Ridge Care Center for their care and attention to Miss Latham.
It was Miss Latham’s wish to be cremated and to not have a service. Memorials can be made in memory of Miss Latham to the Faith Promise Fund at West Side Christian Church, 1307 West “G” St., Elizabethton, TN 37643.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
