Hughey Lee Greene, 90, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Bakersville, N.C., he was a son of the late John and Jane Garland Greene. He had lived a number of years in Johnson City.
Mr. Greene served in the United States Army during World War II. He was retired as a vehicle operator at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Greene, and by a brother and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Emilie Hoss Greene; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Katherine Greene, Johnson City, and Johnnie and Rita Greene, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Angelic Winters and husband Dr. Everett Jones, Blountville, and Kim Combs, Richmond, Va.; two step-grandchildren, Clara and Audrey Jones; and a sister, Lucy Greene, Johnson City.
The graveside service for Mr. Greene will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 31, at Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Terry Carver officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
