Jackie Crumley


Mrs. Jackie Myers Crumley, 66, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Crumley was a native of Carter County and the daughter of Thelma Julian Myers of Elizabethton and the late Lockett W. Myers.

Mrs. Crumley was retired from Levis Strauss & Company and was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. She loved her cats, but especially her beloved “Furby.”

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband of 36 years, Sidney Crumley, of the home, and a daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi Mottern and John “Mike” Mottern, Elizabethton.

The funeral service for Mrs. Crumley will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, September 28, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Doug Hardin and Rev. Jack Greer officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Smith Family. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the home of her mother, Thelma Myers, Elizabethton, at anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, in the Buckles Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from the men of Willow Springs Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be friends, neighbors and members of Willow Springs Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lou Cooter, 415 Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
