Janice Marie Culler Vines, 71, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Peggy Radford Culler. Janice was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Until her retirement, she was a saleslady at Cline-Holder Electric Supply. She attended Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Hill, and a niece, Marsha Hill.
Survivors include her husband of 55 year, Wayne Vines; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Mike Hefner, Washburn, Tenn.; a son, Gary Vines, Elizabethton; and one grandchild, who was loved and raised as her own, Jon Vines, Elizabethton, and three grandsons, Russ, Terry and Perry Vines; one granddaughter, Joy Beeler and husband Chuck; two great-grandchildren, Haven and Hunter Beeler; the mother of her grandsons, Shannon Harr; three sisters, Kathryn (Judy) Hicks, Hampton; Grace Soliday and Linda Henegar and husband Glenn, all of Elizabethton; one brother, Frank Culler, Unicoi; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law: Paul and Jerry Vines and Frank Hill; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Buck; and a very special friend, Betty Oliver.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Lyons Cemetery (Gap Creek) with the Rev. Charlie Biggs and Dr. Alan King officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be the management and staff of Cline-Holder. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
