Jeffery Joseph Hatley, 48, Elizabethton passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a Carter County native. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. Jeff was a Millwright. He loved to hunt, fish and sing. Jeff was a member of the Roan Street Church of God. He was preceded in death by his father: Jack Joseph Hatley and a brother: Larry Mack Hatley.
Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Jo Rash Hatley; a son: Jeffery Joseph Hatley Jr. of the home; his mother: Margaret White Hatley, Elizabethton; a sister: Lora Louise Bowman and her husband William Cody, Elizabethton; six Brothers: Gary Wayne Hatley and wife Judy, Terry Jack “Stoney” Hatley, Jerry Allen Hatley, Clifford M. “Bo” Hatley, and Timothy John Hatley all of Elizabethton; Mark Daniel Hatley and wife Geri, Savannah, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Bewley and Rev. Mark Hatley officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 in the Jenkins Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday will be: Coy Whisenhunt, Mike Taylor, Justin Hatley, Chad Hatley, J.B. Hatley and family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Mountain States Home Health for their excellent care. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence in Jenkins Hollow and the residence of his mother Mrs. Margaret Hatley.
