Johnny A. Lewis


WEBER CITY, Va. — Johnny Allen Lewis, 54, of Dungannon, was very unexpectedly called away from his family on Monday January 14, 2013.
Born in Baltimore, Md., he moved with his family to spend the remainder of his childhood in Elizabethton.
John had worked for the Carter County Sheriff’s Department and the Carter County Life Saving Crew for some years. He worked as a superintendent in commercial building for J.A. Street in Blountville, Tenn. The last few years, he had worked in the sporting goods section at WalMart in Lebanon, Va.
John was involved in the Masons and the Shriners organizations. He was an avid fisherman and skilled marksman who loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and proud papa who will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois June Lewis, and a brother, Jeff Lewis.
John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Glenda Osborne Lewis; three daughters, Samantha Lewis and special friend of the family, Levi Brickey, Wendy Lang and husband Michael of Dungannon, and Jamie Hines and husband Christopher of Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Emily Grace Lang; one grandson, Casey Daniel Lang; one sister, Kathy Vanover and husband Danny of Elizabethton, Tenn.; two nieces and two nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at Wood Riverview Baptist Church, Wood, Va., or anytime at the home of his wife. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 18, at Wood Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Art Webb officiating. Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers. Interment will follow in the Osborne Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lee Osborne, Perry Osborne, Joe Osborne, Mark Osborne, Donald Osborne, Michael Lang, Chris Hines and Levi Brickey.
