Kenneth Ray Minton, 84, Bluff City, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roscoe H. and Minnie V. Blevins Minton.
Mr Minton was a retired Diesel Mechanic and had served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the NRC.
He was a member of the Brookside Baptist Church, Bristol.
Mr. Minton was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Howard Smith; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include five sons, Daniel R. Minton and wife, Sandy, and James G. Minton all of Bluff City; Bobby P. Minton and wife, Gena, Watauga, Paul D. Minton and wife, Stephanie and David M. Davis all of Elizabethton; one sister, Faye Lovelace; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Nixon officiating. Honorary Ministers will be Rev. Sam Richards and Rev. Frank Cornelius. Graveside Service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Minton Family. Pallbearers will be his sons. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a son, Daniel R. Minton, Bluff City. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to email@example.com.
