Kenneth W. Crabtree Sr.


Kenneth Wayne Crabtree Sr., 73, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Clayborn and Mary McGhee Crabtree.
Mr. Crabtree was a retired employee of Color Works, Elizabethton. He was loved by the Green Mountain Free Will Baptist Church Congregation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives, Sandra Sprowl Crabtree, Vanda Roberts Crabtree and Linda Hodge Crabtree; a daughter, Peggy Crabtree Griffith; a son, Keith Clayborn Crabtree; a granddaughter, Erica Crabtree; two brothers, James W. and Robert Crabtree; and a sister, Mary Christine Wilson.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and David Irick, Elizabethton, Kimberly and Tony Miller, Roan Mountain, and Kendra and Paul Newell of Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Angie Crabtree, Elizabethton; a brother, Raymond Crabtree, Hampton; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, his dog Tiger.
Funeral services for Mr. Crabtree will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Irick, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by his grandson, Anthony Miller, and Charlie Miller. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and special nephew. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the family residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
