Larry John Dugger, 63, of Butler, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Frank and Orpha Keller Dugger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Dugger and Audrey Keller; two brothers, Raymond Dugger and Richard Dugger; his wife, Paulene Dugger; and a nephew, Bobby L. Dugger.
Mr. Dugger had lived many years in Salisbury, N.C., before making Butler, Tenn., his home.
Mr. Dugger was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the VFW. He attended Butler Baptist Church in Butler.
Survivors include two sisters, Betty Ward and husband Lewis, Hampton, and Frankie White and fiancé Jerry Woods, Butler; his dear, close friends from Salisbury, N.C., Carlos and Joyce Parro and their daughter, Jenna; and a special friend, Ester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Dugger will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 2, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Daniel Wood officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, and at the residence at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Butler. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Saturday for the graveside service.
