Lee Roy Jones, 68, Elizabethton, passed away  Thursday, March 28, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wilburn Thomas and Hazel Williams Jones. He was a retired Construction Worker. Lee Roy  was a member of the Borderview Christian Church. In his earlier days he loved camping and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wilson Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sherry Parker, Rock Hill, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jerry Jenkins, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Brittany Jenkins, Joshua Parker, Victoria Parker, Brian Jenkins, Justin Colbaugh and Sean Smithdeal; a sister, Barbara Sue Fox, Elizabethton; his special nieces, Lorie Smithdeal and Sandra Wilson; a special nephew, Thomas Fox; and a special sister-in-law, Marie Parlier.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, in the Borderview Christian Church with Mr. Kirk Langston, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by Terry Rice, Ray Don Markland and Scott Reynolds.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Borderview Christian Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the  staff of the Fresenius Dialysis Center of Elizabethton; the  staff of the 5500 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center; Amedysis Hospice Care; his nurse, Sue Ann; and members of the Borderview Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the  National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.  Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
