Linda Johnson Ward Hogan

Linda Johnson Ward Hogan, 69, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte, N.C., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hogan was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late C.B. Johnson Sr. and Mittie Belle Franklin Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilbur Hogan, on October 11, 2008.
Mrs. Hogan graduated from Elizabethton High School, Class of 1962, and was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. She formerly worked as a realtor and she loved to cook and to collect and read cookbooks.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Ward, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Ashley Mamie Hogan, of the home; a sister, Bonnie Flynn, Bristol, Va.; and two brothers, Ben Johnson, Elizabethton, Tenn., and C.B. Johnson Jr., Atlanta, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hogan will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 N.
