Ms. Lou Ella Holtsclaw, 68, of Elizabethton, died on Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Laura Bell and Lloyd Harrison and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Jack Gibbs Jr. and three brothers. She was a homemaker and a member of Blessings Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Holtsclaw, of the home; a daughter, Annette Gibbs Brown and her husband, Michael, Johnson City; two sons, Elmer Dean Gibbs and his wife, Darlene, Crossnore, N.C.; Robert Paul Gibbs, of the home; two sisters, Thelma Puckett, Newland, N.C.; Sally Shipley and her husband, Conley, Johnson City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mrs. Holtsclaw will be conducted on Monday, April 1, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Jones Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Holtsclaw officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Monday.
