Michael Lynn Moore, 64, of Kingsport, left his worldly body to join the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, following a very brief illness. Family and friends at Sycamore Shoals Hospital surrounded him.
Mike was born July 14, 1949, and resided in Hampton, Tenn. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, son and brother. He was an excellent hang glider, sailor and fisherman. Mike was an avid lover of nature whom many would call a true “Mountain Man” and for this, the family, in lieu of flowers, suggests tributes be made in the form of contributions to the TN Chapter of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
Mike was a graduate of Ketron High School and attended ETSU. He was a member of both Vermont United Methodist Church and King’s Highway Temple.
His father, Hubert Moore, preceded him in death.
Mike is survived by his mother, Olene Parks Moore, Kingsport; aunt, June Johnson, Kingsport; wife, Barbara Moore, Hampton; siblings, Jack Moore (Marcia), Lambertville, Mich., Louise Craddock (RG), Las Vegas, Nev., and Diane Ladesic (Ray), Las Vegas, Nev.; his children, Stephen, Kingsport, Martin, Kingsport, and Cicily, Asheville, N.C.; their mother, Shirley Moore, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his granddaughter, Brooklyn, Kingsport; as well as two step-children, Elisha and Davie White, Kingsport, and three step-grandchildren Abby, Zachary and Bryson. He had a wonderful community of friends both in Kingsport and Hampton.
