Michael Shane Davis, 34, of Piney Flats, Tenn., died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Michael was a lifelong resident of the area and attended The Church of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Milligan. He was a former employee of HSN. Michael loved animals, flowers and farming.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Lewis Davis; a sister, Lisa Davis; and a nephew, Brandon Scalf.
Michael is survived by his mother, Ireta Davis Gurley and stepfather, Richard Gurley of Watauga, Tenn.; son, Gabrielle Eplier of Johnson City, Tenn.; brothers, Claude Lewis Davis Jr. and Geneva Reed, Charles Richard Gurley and Kenneth and Karen Davis, all of Watauga, Tenn., Timmy Lee Freeman and Carolyn Green of Johnson City, Tenn.; sisters, Angela Williams and Chris Smith of Johnson City, Tenn., Alexis Jade Davis and Adrian of Watauga, Tenn., Linda and Richard Scalf of Piney Flats, Tenn., Debra Davis and Jesse Ambrose of Johnson City, Tenn., and Naomi and Joey Runyon of Watauga, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, Scott Havens and Jason Smith.
The family will receive friends anytime Thursday, April 11, at the home of Naomi Runyon or Debra Davis. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m. at Tri-Cities Funeral Home Chapel in Blountville, Tenn., with Pastor Carl Reed and Rev. Phil Reed officiating with music provided by Debbie Reed and Gracie Reed. Entombment will follow in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
