Nancy Eva Burchfield Ward, 65, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at her residence.
She was a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and had lived in Elizabethton since 1963.
Nancy was a retired seamstress and a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She was president for eight years of the Northeast Tennessee Deaf Activities.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Bobby Burchfield, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Roy Dale Ward; a daughter, Tammy Dixion and her husband, Richard Dixion Sr., Mt. Storm, W.Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rickie and Kim Bowling and Dave and Carrie Bowling, all of Elizabethton; 10 grandchildren; several special cousins; her brothers-in-law, Jack, Ray, Burl, Earl, Bill and Harold Ward; and her special friends, Mary Lou, Debra and Bonnie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ward will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 31, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Shell, Rickie Berry, Joshua Berry, Richard Dixion Jr. and Michael Dixion. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Caris Health Care, especially Misty, Katie and Vonda, for the excellent care that was received.
