Mrs. Pat Kane Beall of Elizabethton passed away at her residence Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, following an illness of six weeks.
Pat was a native of Helena, Montana, and had made her home in Elizabethton since the age of 4. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice Payne Greene.
Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Clarke Kane, Sr., and by her second husband, John Vernon “Red” Beall.
Throughout her life, Pat was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton, where she was a member of Circle 6. She was always devoted to her family and was an excellent home-maker.
From the time her children were little, she was always there for them, working in PTA, MYF at her church and serving as a Cub Scout den mother. Pat loved to travel and see the world and often included her family on her travels.
Throughout her life she gave back to her community in many ways as she was involved in many forms of charity to help others. Some of her favorite charities were The American Cancer Society of which she had served as a state-wide board member and in the local chapter, and The Habitat For Humanity. Through the generosity of Pat and her husband, “Red,” many young couples were able to purchase a home to live in.
She was a member of the Elizabethton Women’s Civic Club and the Bookbinders Book Club. For many years Pat was the owner and operator of Farm Supply in Elizabethton.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Jim Wilson of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Charlene Kane of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Dr. Sharon Stafford of Boone, NC, Cindy Stafford Buck of Elizabethton, Scott Stafford of Houston, TX, Amy Stafford Pinkerman, Paige Kane Rike and Todd Kane all of Elizabethton; six great-grandchildren, Philip Miller of Raleigh, NC, Molly Cockett of Chicago, IL, Megan Reese of Nashville, TN, Ryan Pinkerman and Lexie Rike both of Elizabethton and Taylor Stafford of Houston, TX; her niece “Tish” Campbell of Johnson City.
She is also survived by her husband, Red’s daughter: Sandy Clarke and her three children, Samuel “Bo” Clarke, Courtney Pewitt and Joshua Clarke and her three grandchildren, Peyton and Lillee Clarke and Hallie Pewitt all of Nashville.
A Celebration of Life service for Pat Kane Beall will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton with the Rev. Ray Amos and the Rev. Bill Carter officiating. Music will be under the direction of David Arney, church organist, and Loretta Bowers, soloist.
