Paul E. Clawson, 59, of Butler, Tenn., passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late McKinley and Maude Dellinger Clawson.
Mr. Clawson had worked for Shoun Lumber for 26 years. He was a member of Elk Mills Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Molly Whaley, Ann Gentry and Jeanie Clawson, and a brother, Homer Clawson.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Dugger and husband Terry, Butler, Tenn.; four brothers, Bill Clawson, Roscoe Clawson and wife Sandy, Beryl Clawson and wife Geneva, all of Butler, Tenn., and Delbert Clawson, Mountain City, Tenn.; his former wife, Sue Clawson, Butler, Tenn.; three children, Joan, Joe and Jeff Storie; six grandchildren, including a special grandson, Adam Storie; and two great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandson, Brayden Storie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Clawson will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Elk Mills Christian Church with Mr. Terry Dugger, minister, Mr. Andy Lunceford, minister, and Rev. Jim Storie officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kayla Storie. The family will receive friends at Elk Mills Christian Church from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the funeral service, or at his residence at anytime. Friends may also call at the residence of his sister, Betty Dugger. Interment will follow the funeral service on Wednesday in the Clawson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Clawson, Jerry Clawson, Richard Clawson, Joe Clawson, Joe Storie, Adam Storie and Seth Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry and Deana Shoun and their children, Katie, Kelly and Jill, Bill Shoun, Ed Simerly, Gary Simerly, Floyd Storie, John Castle and employees of Shoun Lumber Company.
