OLD HICKORY — Rae Louise Ferling Owens, 76, of Old Hickory, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Nashville at the hospital where she had been employed for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her wonderful husband of 59 years, James G. Owens; daughters, Eva Rae Morrissey and Amy Lou Metcalf; son, Mitchell J. Owens; sisters, Joyce Ferling Frisch and Dolores Ferling Barker; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and Wetzel and Ferling cousins in Tennessee and Indiana.
Louise was one fantastic lady. She was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George G. Ferling, in 1994, and her parents, Robert W. and Kathryn W. Ferling, several years ago.
A celebration memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, in the Sermon on the Mount section at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
