Ralph D. Pierce, 83, of Kirtland, Ohio, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Manor Care in Willoughby.
He was born October 12, 1929, in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Daniel and Alice Nave Pierce, both now deceased. He married Teresia Heaphy, who preceded him in death in 1981.
Ralph retired from the Fisher Body Coit Road plant and moved to Florida nearly 25 years ago. He returned to Lake County earlier this year. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1952.
Ralph is survived by his children, Doug (Gale) Pierce of Kirtland, Kenny (Beth) Pierce of Tennessee, Cindy Chrosniak and friend Dave Hampton of Euclid and Judy (Jim) Santell of Willowick, as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ralph also leaves his dear friend of nearly 30 years, Ruth Palmer of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
