Regina Hettie “Gina” Cole, 47, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Kermit and Doris Faye Capps Honeycutt Guinn. She was a native of Van Nuys, Calif. but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a 1985 graduate of David Crockett High School. She was a member of the Clark Street Baptist Church in Johnson City. Gina was a homemaker. She had a green thumb and loved playing with her granddaughter, Peyton.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Cole; a daughter and son-in-lawm, Stephanie and Jake Peoples, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Peyton Grace Peoples; a stepdaughter, Madison Williams, Kingsport; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Eric Gibson, Johnson City; her brothers, Timothy Honeycutt of Virginia, Robert Honeycutt, Jonesborough, Mark Honeycutt, Johnson City and Randall Guinn and wife Kee Wee; her stepfather, R.M. Guinn; her mother-in-law, Louise Tolley and her husband Paul, Elizabethton; her nieces, Joanna Gibson, Erika Honeycutt, Katie Honeycutt, Allie Guinn, Keelie Richardson and Keturah Richardson; her nephews, Joshua Gibson, Timothy Honeycutt, Jr., Cody Honeycutt, Derek Honeycutt, Kaleb Honeycutt, Tanner Honeycutt and Jeffery Honeycutt, Nic Guinn, Karrington Richardson, Kamden Richardson, Ashton Guinn and Asher Guinn; one great-niece, Emma Faye; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her special friends, Ted and Ellen, Carrie and David Hardy; her best dogs, Nacho and Rodeo; and her special grand dog, Dixie.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, in Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, with Pastor Mike Anglin and Pastor Greg Canter. Graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, in the Kress Cemetery, Stoney Creek. Music will be provided by her daughter, Stephanie Peoples, nephew, Tanner Honeycutt (guitar), and Barbara Curtis (piano). Active pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday will be Ted Welch, Cody Honeycutt, Jake Peoples, Eric Gibson, Wayne Honeycutt, Kaleb Honeycutt and Nic Guinn. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Fund. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jake Peoples, Johnson City.
