Roger L. Gibson, 64, Johnson City, entered into rest, Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Gibson was a native of Jackson, Ohio and had lived in Johnson City since 1963. He was a son of the late Howard P. Gibson and Judy Gibson and was also preceded in death by a brother, Donnie G. Gibson, and by several uncles, aunts and one nephew.
Mr. Gibson was a carpenter. He was a member of Freedom Road Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Feltner Gibson; a daughter, Shelia Segura and husband, Larry, of Texas; a son, Richard Gibson and wife, Dee, of West Virginia; two sisters, Sandy Price, Elizabethton, and Carolyn Howington, Unicoi; and two brothers, Johnny H. Gibson, Elizabethton, and Dale Gibson, Elizabethton. Six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Gibson will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Military Honors committal service will be held at a later date at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn., with the Rev. Johnny Hilton officiating.
