Ronnie Dale Odom, 39, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at his home following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of Ray Odom and Sharon Vaughan Odom, both of Elizabethton.
Mr. Odom worked for Shoun Lumber and enjoyed playing pool, hanging out with his friends, woodworking, fishing, and the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Tammy Gilbert Odom, of the home; brother, Johnny Ray Odom of Elizabethton; niece, Lamesha Odom of Erwin; great-niece and great-nephew, Grace Ann and Justin Odom of Erwin; step-daughter, Karrie Williams and husband Justin of Elizabethton; step-son, Jacob Gilbert of Elizabethton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to thank all the employees of Hillview Health Care, where Ronnie’s mother works, for helping the family.
The funeral service for Ronnie Dale Odom will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Marvin Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel prior to the service.
The graveside service will follow in McKinney Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Sexton, Tim Hopson, Brian Barnett, Justin Williams, John Williams, and Matt Stout. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at Shoun Lumber Company.
