Ruby Miller Greene


Ruby Miller Greene, 82, Roan Mountain, entered into rest Jan. 11, 2013, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital with family at her side.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Lurlie Miller. She was a homemaker. She was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dayton Greene, March 12, 2003, by a great grandson: Brandon Waycaster, a brother Harold Miller and three sisters: Wilma Davenport, Brenda Thompson and Rosealee Campbell.
Survivors include one son: Ralph Greene and wife Rosella, Roan Mountain. Four daughters: Charlotte Heaton and husband James and Shirley Cornett all of Elizabethton, Nola Honeycutt and husband Mick, Hampton and Lola Glenn of the home. Ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and one expected in April. One brother: Douglas “Slim” Miller, Elizabethton. Three sisters: Christine Beddingfield, Jasper, Mich., Pauline Divert, Adrian, Mich., and Betty Snodgrass, Highland, Ind. A special son-in-law: Dean Markland; a special sister-in-law: Hazel Chambers. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in the Cook Cemetery, Little Elk Park, N.C. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 183 Honeycutt Road, Roan Mountain. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Monday. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
