Sandie Louise Markland Campbell, 69, of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 2, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Orville and Temperance Hyder Markland.
Sandie was a waitress at Hook’s Restaurant for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved to watch “Law and Order,” swinging on the front porch and going to yard sales. She loved life and everyone around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Cable; two grandchildren, Charles Presnell Jr. and Zachary Campbell; and her special friends, Eckie Greenwell and Jack Bishop.
Survivors include her children, Terry and Debbie Freeman, Cathy and Rob Stines, Teresa and Mitch Parlier, Kim Campbell and Scott Rasnick; her grandchildren, Josh Presnell, Samantha Parlier, Brandon Davis, Hunter Rasnick and John Ross Rasnick; her great-grandchildren, Alexis “Lexi” Parlier and Ethan Presnell; her brothers, Tom Markland and wife Zelma, Rick Markland and Raymond Markland and wife Donna; her sisters, Goldie Lawson and husband Don and Sue Russell and husband Tommy; her special friends, Bonnie Clawson, Hallie Campbell and Dave Hyder; and the fathers of her children, C.J. Campbell and Jerry Freeman.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Sandie Campbell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Wagner officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 5, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Teasha Patterson, Karen Fitzpatrick, Bill Bradford, Steve Edens and residents of Courtyard Apartments. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mitch Parlier, 311 McQueen Street, Elizabethton. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Heavenly Sunshine, Dr. James Shipley and Staff, Brian Bevins and Bevins Pharmacy Staff.
