Mrs. Stella Mae Decker, 90, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Durham-Hensley Nursing Home.
Mrs. Decker was born in Butler, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late David Garfield and Cordia Jane Pierce Matherly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Decker; two sisters, Naomi Brown and Lucy Ward; and two brothers, Dana Matherly and Robert Matherly.
Mrs. Decker was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Rebecca Decker, Jonesborough; one grandson, Andy Decker, Jonesborough; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Mrs. Decker will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ponder and Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
