Mrs. Stella T. Lowe, Johnson City, began singing in the Heavenly choir on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Our Angel is finally at rest with her precious Jesus.
She was met at the crossing by all her loved ones who preceded her to Glory, and has been reunited with her soul mate of 61 years, Daniel R. Lowe, and her boys, Lonnie E. Lowe and Stanley Wayne Lowe.
Mrs. Lowe was a daughter of the late Jennie Kelsey Salts and was also preceded in death by her 14 brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish and honor her are sons, George Lowe and wife Judy, Jonesborough, Benny Lowe and wife Lora, Johnson City, and Lewis “Hack” Hackler and wife Rande, Tazewell, Va.; granddaughters, Kelly Conley and husband Mike, Knoxville, Shannon Largent and husband Rick, Elizabethton, and Missy Elliot and husband Dan, Jonesborough; great-grandchildren, Michael, Centain and Caylene Conley and Nick Elliot; many precious nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly, and her sister of love, Maggie Salts, Port Orange, Fla.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lowe will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Crowe, her “adopted son,” officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, prior to the service, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home. The graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Rick Largent, Mike Conley, Perry Hodge (Stella was his Tennessee mom), Alan Carden, Dave Cooper and Roy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Grosserode, Dr. Vipul Brahmbhatt and her church family of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
