Steve M. Vines, 55, of Elizabethton, Tenn., died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Carter County and a son of Joann Brumitt Vines and the late Jack Monroe Vines.
Mr. Vines worked as an upholsterer and enjoyed fishing, growing tomatoes and playing horseshoes. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his sisters, Lisa Vines of Elizabethton, Jackie Vines of Johnson City and Susan Glover and husband Rick of Sevierville, Tenn., and brothers, Daniel Vines and wife Robin of Elizabethton and Ricky Vines and wife Cindy of Bloomingdale, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Vines will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Jerry Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
