Vickie Hilmon Peters, 53, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Church Hill Nursing Home and Rehab.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of Billy Gene Hilmon and the late Ella Jane Simerly.
Vickie was a member of Tri-Cities Baptist Church in Gray.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Alice and Earl Simerly and Bill and Bertha Hilmon, and her granddaughter, Aderionna Nicole.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Jack L. Peters Jr., a son, John F. Patterson, two daughters, Jessica N. Patterson and Erin M. Patterson, all of Elizabethton; two step-children, Jarrod Peters and wife Heather, Kingsport, and Robin Peters of South Carolina; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathy and Alan Biggerstaff of Boiling Springs, N.C., Rhonda and David Ellis of Elizabethton, and Angie Hilmon of Shelby, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive and her dog, Harley Jack.
A private memorial service for Mrs. Peters was held Monday, December 17, for immediate family only. A public service will be held at a later date, due to Vickie’s wishes of her body being donated for study. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Relay for Life or local animal shelter.
