Daniel P. Nave

 

Daniel Paul Nave, 31, Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. He was the son of James Nave and Carla Hardin, both of Elizabethton, and was born in Washington County, Tenn. Mr. Nave was a graduate of Unaka High School and a former employee of The Robinette Company. He attended Roan Street Church of God.

 

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Heather Michelle Lewallen Nave, and two sons, Nathan Cade Nave and Phillip Braedon Nave, all of the home; two brothers, Jamie Carl Nave and Timothy Joel Nave, a step-brother, Chad Mashburn, a half brother, Michael Nave, his step-mother, Dianne Nave, two uncles, John Nave and Robert Nave, and his paternal grandmother, Vina Ruth Nave; all of Elizabethton; his parents-in-law, Steve and Rebecca Lewallen, and a brother-in-law, Kevin Lewallen, all of Bristol, Tenn.

 

The memorial service for Mr. Nave will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at the Roan Street Church of God with Rev. Ken Bewley, Rev. Bill Merritt and Rev. Richard Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Violet C. Harrell

 

Violet Clematius “Mattie” Harrell, 77, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Hillview Health Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Roy Alexander and Alaska Hodge Asher. Mrs. Harrell was a homemaker. She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny William Harrell; two brothers, Luther and Howard Asher; and four sisters, Lola Rogers, Juanita Asher, Flossie Fletcher and Eunice Asher.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy “Candy” Harrell, of the home, and two sisters, Beulah Honeycutt, Elizabethton, and Dee Beam, Greensboro, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Harrell will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Peggy Martin. Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery (Big Sandy). Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Harrell, Ed Harrell, Joel Honeycutt, James Avery, Randy Lingerfelt and Bosch Associates. Candy would like to express a special “thank you” to Hillview Health Center for all their love and care. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Irene P. Rouse

 

MARION, Va. — Irene P. Rouse, 80, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Rouse was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rouse; a daughter, Carolyn Eller; and her parents, S.E. and Clyde Powers.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Rouse Miller and husband Jerry of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Barbara Rouse Miller of Marion; three sons, Dennis Rouse and wife Anne of Galax, Bobby Rouse and wife Joann of Marion, and Larry Rouse and wife Porkey of Marion; two sisters, Vergie Dungan of Chilhowie and Ruth Sullivan of Bel Air, Md.; a brother, Garney Powers of Marion; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Rouse will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jerry Carver and Rev. Victor Johnsey officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at Middle Fork Cemetery in Chilhowie. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
