Evelyn M. Turbyfill
Evelyn Marie Stansberry Turbyfill, 66, 144 Parsonage Road, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Ulas and Maude Bunton Stansberry. Mrs. Turbyfill had lived a number of years in Carter County. She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of the Willow Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Turbyfill was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 2166. Her greatest joy in life was caring for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a baby sister, Betty Sue, a brother-in-law, Stanley Allen Bowers, and her godfather, Howard Deloach.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Arthur Turbyfill Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Lindsay Rash II; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric Todd and Heather Turbyfill; a very special sister and best friend, Wanda R. Bowers; grandsons, Josh and his wife Brittany Jones and Andrew Rash; a great-granddaughter, Kaydence; a special friend, Ed Deloach; and her little buddy, TJ.
A private memorial service for Mrs. Turbyfill will be held at a later date. Friends may call on the family at anytime at the residence of Arthur Turbyfill. A very special “thank you” to the doctors and nurses at Sycamore Shoals ICU for all the special care and friendship during her stay.
