Gynith L. Morrell

 

Gynith Lee Morrell, 55, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in the Johnson City Medical Center after a battle with cancer. A native of Welch, W.Va., she had lived in Carter County for a number of years. She was a former employee of Whites Supermarket and was presently employeed at Food City, where she had worked for the past 10 years. She attended Calvary Church, Johnson City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Willard Morrell, and her father, John Anderson Burnette.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Lee Combs, of the home; two sons, Anthony John and Amy Burnette, Elk Park, N.C., and Joseph Isaac Earl Morrell and Lindsey Walker of the home; three grandchildren, Anthony John Burnette II, Haylee Joe Morrell and Kiera Lynn Morrell; her mother, Louise Belcher Burnette, Newland, N.C.; two brothers and their wives, Dewey and Gloria Belcher, Atlanta, and Danny and Rosa Belcher, Bristol, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Richard Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
