Irene P. Rouse

 

MARION, Va. — Irene P. Rouse, 80, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Rouse was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rouse; a daughter, Carolyn Eller; and her parents, S.E. and Clyde Powers.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Rouse Miller and husband Jerry of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Barbara Rouse Miller of Marion; three sons, Dennis Rouse and wife Anne of Galax, Bobby Rouse and wife Joann of Marion, and Larry Rouse and wife Porkey of Marion; two sisters, Vergie Dungan of Chilhowie and Ruth Sullivan of Bel Air, Md.; a brother, Garney Powers of Marion; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Rouse will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jerry Carver and Rev. Victor Johnsey officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at Middle Fork Cemetery in Chilhowie. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Jim McDowell, the Fourth Floor staff and the ER staff at Smyth County Community Hospital.
