Mary B. Fisher
Mary B. Fisher, 83, of Johnson City, passed away quietly to meet her Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Monte Lee and Rosa McKeehan Buck. Mrs. Fisher was a 1944 graduate of Happy Valley High School and was a homemaker. She did a lot of volunteer work at several different institutions. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Brick Christian Church. She was an avid football fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Fisher, in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Harry E. Fisher II, of the home; a grandson, Timothy B. Fisher, Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, David Buck, Johnson City; and two sisters, Anna B. Walker, Johnson City, and June B. Pritchard, Montezuma, N.C. A number of loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fisher will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Gerald Holly and Rev. Mack Houston officiating. Music will be provided by Marion Mottern. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, will be Herb Curde, Benny Buck, Keith Buck, Cody Buck, Andrew Walker and Cory Walker. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a sister, Anna B. Walker. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Fisher to the donor’s favorite charity. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.
