Maxine M. Little
Mrs. Maxine M. Little, 82, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ora T. and Mildred Simerly McKeehan. Mrs. Little was a 1945 graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Valley Forge United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Little, who died June 19, 1988, a sister, Wanda Adams, and a brother, Tommy McKeehan.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Little; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Debbie Little; a grandson, Alan Little; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hicks and her husband Brian; two great-grandsons, Bryson and Brody Hicks; a sister, Dorothy Clement; and a cousin, Wilma McKeehan.
Graveside services for Mrs. Little will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Lon Tobin officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be John Clement, Alvin McKinney, Mike Nidiffer, Steve Dugger, Brian Hicks and Alan Little. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaley, Mike, Mark, Jeff and Ryan Clement, Ray and Jana Flynn, Charles Ailsworth, Tommy Lynn, Melissa and Kevin Adams, Horace, Ruth, Jerry and Teresa Calhoun, Ken and Linda Arney, Charlsie, Phyllis, Glen and Dorothy, Ronnie and Marie, Robert, John and Kenneth Little, her special friends, Betty Barnett, Sue Johnson and Betty Jean Moore, all members of the congregation of the Valley Forge United Methodist Church, friends and neighbors. The family would like to express a special “thank you” to Dr. Vivian Clark, Dr. Ahmad Khan, Betsy Geagley and Med Center Hospice, especially Melissa, Sarah and Bill. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Little to the King’s Table c/o Valley Forge United Methodist Church, 3974 Highway 19E, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Friends may call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
