‘Once Upon A Cure’ kickoff set for Jan. 17

The Carter County Relay for Life is preparing for the 2013 fundraising season and will host a “Once Upon a Cure” kickoff celebration Thursday, Jan. 17.

Community Promotions Chair Marcie Gordon said the kickoff gives the Relay for Life the opportunity to share its fundraising goals for the year and provide basic information on Relay for Life. The kickoff also provides the chance for interested individuals to sign up for a team or to register a new team.

“We had a lot of people involved with Relay who have been asked ‘what is the kickoff?’ and what the Relay does,” Gordon said. “The kickoff explains who we are and what we do. The more people who are there, then there are that many more people who can spread the word about the Relay for Life.”
